i met julian when he came to tokyo as otc member over a decade ago (btw otc performed at some venue in shibuya and in the crowd there’s shiina ringo before her hit).
im sure we had a lunch at some omurice diner (actually he didn’t eat anything and only had a tea or coffee since he’s vegan) with some other japanese friends. i remember i asked him various silly questions in engrish like “which tmbg album do you like the most?” (he answered 1st) “how do you think about chris knox?” “how did you learn that mic stand technique?” (he adjusts the boom-arm angle quite quickly) etc.
i gave my pre-ventla-project cd to julian and he loved the sound. long time no contact though but i’m curious whether he likes ventla or not. maybe it’s a bit too trendy for his taste
